Did you know?

Plan B (aka emergency contraception) is available over the counter in the US? You have to ask a pharmacist for it, but you can get it without a 'scrip. How cool is that? Now, if only we could keep asshats from refusing to dispense it...

Hi! I saw a comment you made a Shakesville where you mentioned being in the SCA and I just wanted to say hello. :)

My family has been involved with the SCA for approximately 15 years (give or take) and I was really excited to see another member reading the same blogs I do. ^_^ I, personally, haven't done any SCAing in many years, being all poor and college-like in the remote Upper Peninsula, but my mother and stepfather are still insanely active in the Society. Closest group is Cynnabar Barony, but I think they do most of their playing with Darkyard.

I plan to get involved again when I have an income in a few years. :) In the meantime I'm occupying myself with my studies and eagerly devouring the feminist blogosphere.

Have a great day! I like your blog. :)

Thanks! I've only been in the Society for about 9 years, many of those semi-inactive in Caerthe (Denver). I've made up for it with a vengeance, though! Webminister, archivist, librarian, assistant chronicler... Plus I write a lot for the newsletter.

If you get a chance to come down over Father Day weekend, You should check out Border War. I'll be camping with Dun Traigh/House DragonScythe (look for the severed heads. Can't miss 'em!)

Wow, sounds like you're busy! I was just a kid when I was actively involved. The most I ever did was help keep an eye on the little 'uns at Children's Activities. ^_^

Actually, I will be in Ann Arbor for almost the whole summer doing a research thing. I'll see if my mum is planning on going and if she can transport me and lend some garb. It's been so long. It would be nifty to go to one again. Especially now that I'm older and can enjoy different aspects of the whole shebang.

Severed heads, eh? Not real, I hope. ^_~
